Worthing News Sept 5th – 2009

It’s been pretty quiet here on the Moth front. We got sailing last weekend but it was (s)low riding all the way for the annual piers long distance race. I opted to do a lap any way and just enjoy the time in the boat. Jonnie turned back 15 mins into the first leg.

My perseverance paid off though as when  I finished my lap and crossed the line, the cloud lifted and there was a 15 minute breeze where the boat was up on the foils and I could get a few foil gybes in. Then the wind dropped back and I decided on half an hour of low riding gybe practice to get the body positioning and muscle memory thing sorted.

The main (sad) news from here is our resident RS600FF man is selling his boat. He went out on it twice at the start of the season and decided it was too full on and will be looking to get a dart instead. If you know anyone looking to get one drop us a line here.

The website change has gone really well with a consistently high number of visits. However, I’ve been thinking about the format and have decided to keep the blogging down to a minimum and only post stuff relevant to foiling in the blog section. I am going to concentrate more on things like getting interviews and providing information for beginners as I see a clear divide between existing long standing foilers and those “outside the fold” which needs to be addressed.

So this is effectively the first “News” item which will contain more general stuff (still mostly sailing!)

My first Moth event is in two weeks so I’ll try to catalog preparation leading up to it and post when the content is there.
