Today was the day I gave the garage a good clear out with a vigorous sweeping and general clear out which was needed for spraying the undercoat.
It was also the first time the hull saw the light of day as I had to put it outside while I cleared out. It looks pretty small outside of the workshop!
I also drilled and countersunk all of the tramp holes and main strop into the gunwales ready for lacing.
It has to be said though, it’s amazing how many pin holes show up as soon as you put a layer of primer on the boat! I thought the hull was pretty spotless up until now. So although it looks near ready for spraying the top coat, I have got another couple of days of filling pin holes before being ready to put the final coat on.
It was sad to have to cover up all of that beautiful carbon but maybe after I’ve built a few more I can get to the level where I can have a clear carbon finish like the ones Bruce has been recently knocking out.
In the meantime, she now has her underpants on at any rate.

They’re not Bruce’s, he just took the photos…
Ok then so who are the mice who were at play then? Let’s have some names please!
That would be me building them, Marty Johnson. Building one for Luka Damic as well.
I call my little business Rocket Surgeon Composites.
You may know me from such hits as the GPS Brackets and carbon cams etc available thru sailingbits.
I have enjoyed watching the progress in ninjaville.
