Ninjaville – Chapter 6 – Final leg

It was a weird feeling gluing on the deck as I realised that no one will see the inside of the main tank in the boat’s lifetime! (At least I hope so!)

With the deck on it was then a case of sealing the tank by gluing in the rear wing bars, the daggerboard case and finally joining the deck to the main bulkhead up front.

The Pushrod tube is also now firmly in place ready for the final phase of gluing on the nosecone.

I’ve got a little bit of taping to do (wingbar joint to deck) and a bit more carbon skinning (sealing in the joint between front wingbars and cockpit) before closing up the front.

So by the end of this week I guess that will all be done and we’ll have a finished hull ready for filling and paint prep. Hopefully Mike is sending down some tramps shortly so I can also get those fitted as well. I’m now in a dilemma about colours! I thought I was set on a silver boat but I’m not so sure now.

So less than a month since I started, the boat is coming together nicely and by the end of this week, the build will be finished.

There will still be lots of little bits to like make some carbon brackets for the cleats and carbon mounting plates for pulley blocks etc. so I’m still a way off getting the boat on the water (not to mention that I’ve not ordered the foils and rig from Mike yet!)
