Jonnie popped over earlier so we took the opportunity to pop the hull from the mold having gone through the full curing cycle.
Yeah baby! She looks great and I can’t believe she is finally here. The guys did a special job with the wax as it didn’t take much effort to pop her out of the mold. Thankfully there is not a great deal of work to be done on the hull. There is a bit of filling at the bow and a few pin holes but all in all I’m really pleased with how it has come out. I’ve trimmed up all of the edges so I could put the nose on and check the fit.
Now begins the really meaty work of assembling all of the components.

another moth is born,
how was the weight of the bare hull?
The bare hull came in at just under 4.5 kilos. The nosecone (foredeck) is just under a kilo. So together just under 5.5 kilos. With the deck and bulkheads to go, I guess it will end up around the 8 kilo mark which is the norm?
Hi Phil
Really enjoying the Ninjaville story. You seem to be getting on pretty quickly. Are you also making the foils and when do you think she will be finished?
Good luck with the rest of the build.
Cheers
John
Hi John, I’m glad you’re liking it! unfortunately my skills stop at foil level and Mike is providing those pre built ready to be fitted. I am laying up the deck this friday and then piecing it all together over the next few weeks so hopefully the hull is then ready for fitting out in March. When are you taking your boat to QM?
Cheers,
Phil
That’s pretty quick. I am going to take Supermistress there in the next couple of weeks – I need to join the club first! I also need to buy some warmer sailing gear as I anticipate a lot of swimming around in cold water….
