With my role in the dinghy show at an end, I headed home ready to focus on the wings. The compression bars were first to get sorted. I glued them to the front bars and the mast base and once set, chopped in to them by the mast and glued inserts in so that they could be fully removable.
After this it was time to make them beautiful as a moth should be. I wrapped the compression joints and wing bar ends with a layer of 200 gm twill weave carbon followed by a coat of resin.
The final step for the wings will be a rub down just to really smooth out the coat followed by a couple of layers of clear lacquer for UV protection.
Tomorrow the DeWalt DA sander arrives and the serious task of filling and sanding the hull starts.
