Celestial Moment

Published on July 2nd, 2012

So much has been going on since I last posted an entry that it’s hard to work out where to start. I think I’ll split the posts up to save writing it all in one hit.

Atomik HQ has been really busy churning out wands that are going out all over the world. We’ve sent wands to Australia, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Canada so far! I’ve been flat out with them and trying to find time to do everything else like prepare for the Nationals amongst other things.

The other thing I have been doing is durepoxing foils for various people. It was at this point that the picture above comes in … As I was spraying Jason Belben’s new Maguire foils, I took stock of the workshop and realised that for probably the only time in my lifetime, I would have Maguire foils, Mach 2 foils, Prototype foils and Ninja Elite foils all in one place at one time. The amount of high modulus carbon in the room that day….

If I had had Bladerider foils and the original Ninja foils that would have been a full house. Still I would be keen to see if any one can beat my record.

In the meantime, I’ve built up a personal collection of prototype foils that are unnecessary and are purely fuelling my carbon obsession. I’ve put a spare set up for sale now to try and cure my addiction. I still can’t help but have a chuckle every time I look at the rudder because it is just so small and yet it works so well!

Due to work commitments, I won’t be attending Garda this year which will give me a bit of breathing space to catch up with everything else in life.

Next up will be the post UK Nationals report.

Think Adam might be able to rival your foil collection! No Full force foils in there?! Looks like I’m upgrading again :-) – after Parkstone downwind hell I’ve hardly been sailing but got out on Alex’s boat last week, mine soon!!!

    That rudder foil looks massive!
